A Message to all the Children taking part in “Pray the Rosary”
from Father W. Mone, of the Fatima Devotion Groups
in Scotland.
Dear Children in all parts of Scotland,
Thank-you very much for being part of “Pray the Rosary” and for accepting the gift of a Rosary in honour of Our Lady.
This is the month of May, a time when we honour Our Lady in a special way, and try to listen to her message for us all.
It was in the month of May 1917, the 13th in fact, that Our Lady first appeared to the 3 children in Fatima. They were aged only 6, 8 and 10---just the same age as many of you. It is this story that you will be learning about this month in your School. When you are hearing the story, don’t just listen to what happened in Fatima in 1917, but please, if you would, try to hear the MESSAGE that Our Lady had for us. It is just as important to-day as it was then.
In order to take this message from your School to your Home and your Family, perhaps you would like to ask your Family if they would like to pray even one decade of the Rosary with you.
Perhaps your Family say the Family Rosary every evening, as my Family used to, but if not, maybe you would like to set up a little altar to Our Lady in your room and invite your Family to pray with you.
You will be very busy during this month learning more about Our Lady. I hope you enjoy all the activities we have prepared for you on our web-site and you will understand more and more what Our Lady meant when she said to the 3 Children,
“Pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world.”
I will be praying very specially for you all at this time and I hope you will remember to say a wee Hail Mary for me!
God bless you all, and your teachers, and your parents.
Father Willie Mone
